The Water Directorate organised a Dialogue on Country Status Overview (CSO) on Water Supply and Sanitatiaon in Ghana on the 2nd of June 2010 at Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra, Ghana. CSO fucuses on an assessment of the Sector Performance particularly with respect to the achievement of the MDGs. It was prepared by Mr. Kwabena Sarpong Manu, a Consultant on behalf of the Water and Sanitation Program (Africa)- working in collaboration with the African Development Bank and UNICEF. The CSO examines the current state of Coverage for Water and Sanitation and through the use of a costing tool, provides an indication of the financing required to meet the country's water and sanitation MDG targets. Recognising that finance is only one aspect of the whole delivery system, the CSO also analyses the sector institutional framework to identify areas of challenge and opportunity.
